La Concha Beach

La Concha is consistently rated the best urban beach in Europe — a perfect crescent of golden sand in a shell-shaped bay (concha means shell) protected from Atlantic swells by the isla de Santa Clara. The beach is flanked by Monte Urgull to the east and Monte Igueldo to the west, and the promenade along its length — with its ornate Belle Époque railings — is the defining image of San Sebastián.
