Anglet Beaches & La Barre

Anglet's 4.5-kilometre stretch of beaches north of Biarritz provides the space and the waves that Biarritz's more famous but smaller beaches can't — 11 named beaches running from La Barre (at the mouth of the Adour River) to the Chambre d'Amour cliffs, each with its own character and surf break. The Anglet beaches are where Biarritz locals actually surf when the tourist beaches are too crowded, and the pine-forested Chiberta dunes behind the beaches provide shaded walking paths.
