Pelote Basque (Basque Ball Games)

Pelote basque is the Basque national sport — a family of ball games played against a wall (fronton) that has been the social and competitive centrepiece of Basque culture for centuries. The fastest version, cesta punta (jai alai), sends the ball at over 300 km/h. Matches at the fronton in Parc Mazon and professional games at the Cesta Punta Jai Alai complex provide the most authentic Basque sporting experience in the French Basque Country.
